Outer Banks Rentals
Choosing The Right Accommodations For Your Vacation

You will find when exploring for Outer Banks rentals, you will have a great variety to choose from. In fact, with so many choices, I have found myself asking which accommodations would best meet our family vacation plans.

As I start to look for a place to stay, I have found it best if I try to answer a couple of questions about what kind of family vacation do we want.

Questions to consider when selecting the right accommodations:

  • Do we want to spend a lot of time on the beach?
  • Are we going to be doing a lot of sightseeing?
  • Do we want the convenience of being close to shopping and places to eat?
  • Do we want to save money and cook most of our own meals?
  • Do we want to spend our time with some family or friends?
  • What area of the Outer Banks do we want to spend most of our time?

With these questions answered I am able to narrow the selection down on which one of the Outer Banks vacation rentals to start considering.

Hotels

While exploring for Outer Banks rentals, we decided to have a beach vacation that involves doing nothing and our plans are to relax and eat our meals out, an oceanfront hotel is a great way to go.

Most hotels will have a pool for those days you just don't want to spend on the beach with all the sand.

If you would like to keep up with your exercise routine you will be able to find hotels with a fitness room.

With a hotel there isn't alot of planning to be done. All you have to pack are your clothes for the week. How easy is that?

Choosing a beach hotel has proven to be an easy way to plan a get-away for a few days when life has been busy. You get a few days away from the rush of everyday life and come home feeling rested.

Beach Houses

Even though a hotel is an easy and a great way to relax for a few days, our favorite thing to do is rent one of the great beach houses for a week.

In your search for Outer Banks rentals, you may find that the cost of a beach house is expensive for just one family, but the great thing we have found is with the a house there can be 4-8 bedrooms.

We find this a great way to bring other friends or extended family along. We share the cost and get to stay in a beautiful house at a more affordable price for everyone. This really works out great.

We are able to save money by eating meals in rather than going to a restaurant for all of our meals.

We have found a great way to have meal variety by taking turns planning the main meal for the day. Each family usually has a few meal favorites that we are able to share during the week.

Most of the beach house rentals are fully furnished with all the cooking utensils needed.

If you find yourself faced with a rainy day, there are usually movies and game systems there to pass the time till the sun shines through again.

Some of the more expensive houses will be furnished with a hot tub, which can be very relaxing after a day of shopping or sightseeing.

I know you love your pets and enjoy bringing them along on your Outer Banks family vacation. I have good news, you will find pet friendly accommodations in your search for the best Outer Banks rentals. There may be a little extra deposit required, but it's worth being able to bring the whole family.

If we are wanting to go on our family vacation and not have another couple or family join us we have found many of the Outer Banks rentals to offer beach cottages.

A beach cottage can be a great option. A cottage is a smaller version of the beach houses and are more affordable for a single family. We still have the flexibility of being able to cook our own meals or eat some meals out.

Condos

You may be thinking, I want to have the convenience of cooking, but rather have access to some of the conveniences offered at a hotel. Well, one of the Outer Banks rentals to choose are condo rentals, this may be perfect for you.

They usually have a small kitchen and a separate bedroom or maybe two bedrooms.

This works out great if you have a small family or you and one other couple want to share expenses of a place.

You can still have a private room like you would in a beach house and you will find that most condo rentals have a swimming pool available and a fitness room making it one of the best accommodations.

What is the best Outer Banks Community?

Ok, this brings me to the question of what area of the Outer Banks do we want to stay?

One of our favorite areas to look for vacation houses is Duck. It offers that small community feel and private beach access for a slower paced environment.

This is only one community to explore for the Outer Banks rentals that are available. I would like to give you list below of the communities on the Outer Banks for your further exploration of that Ultimate Family Beach Vacation.
