Outer Banks Weather & Current Conditions
The Outer Banks weather is part of why these barrier islands are a favorite vacation destination. You will find the days filled with lots of sunshine, warm water temperatures and a nice breeze for most of the summer months.

May is a mild month with the temperatures ranging from 60 - 75 degrees during the day with cool nights. The water is still cold and won't be heating up until mid way through June.June will start to really warm up with the temperatures starting to range in the low to mid 80's. July and August of course will be the hottest months of the year. With humidity and the day time temperatures reaching the low to mid 90's. There is a chance for a thunder shower, but for the most part the rain won't hang around for long. September is my favorite month, with the temperatures still pleasant and most days in the 80's. The water is still nice and warm and won't start to cool down much until October. Late fall, you will experience cooler temperatures and an increased wind. The wind will remain through out most of the winter. The winter months are mild, but even if the temperatures are in the 40's, with the breeze it can feel pretty cold at times, especially if you take a walk on the beach. March and April starts to show some signs that warm temperatues and sunny beach weather will be arriving soon.
